Role Health Social Work in the Context of Long Term Care

Long-term care is currently a topical issue, not only in the context of an ageing population and care for people with disabilities, but also in the context of informal care. Formal long-term care includes health and social services, as well as community services and institutional care, including treatments used to stop or reverse the progression of illness or disability. Informal long-term care is provided by family members, friends or neighbours. A health social worker is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team in the context of long-term care provision.
Counseling in the Context of Health and Social Care

The aim of the bachelor 's thesis was to find out how social counseling is provided in the context of health and social care in medical facilities. The theoretical part of the thesis introduced the basic characteristics of social counseling. In the practical part, research questions were set. To achieve the set goal of the bachelor's thesis, a qualitative research strategy was chosen using the method of questioning and the technique of semi-structured interview. The research group consisted of health and social workers who worked in hospitals in the South Bohemian Region at the time of the research. The semi-structured interviews were recorded in audio form with the consent of the informants and subsequently transcribed. Data analysis was performed by open coding method. The bachelor thesis deals with individual aspects of providing social counseling and introduces the actual state of implementation of social counseling in hospitals from the perspective of health and social workers. The research showed that health and social workers in hospitals provide social counseling mainly to hospitalized clients and their family members, whom they help to solve the current social situation. Social counseling is mainly focused on providing post-hospitalization care. It usually takes place at the patient's bedside or in the office of the health and social workers. The research revealed problems with insufficiently secured privacy in the provision of social counseling to bedridden people, the need to educate the public in the field of social services and also draws attention to the appropriateness of increasing the safety of health and social workers. It will be possible to use the bachelor's thesis as a source of information on the method of providing social counseling in health care facilities in the South Bohemian Region. It will also serve as feedback for individual medical facilities in which the research was conducted.
Health Social Worker in the Psychiatric Hospital

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the specifics of social work of a health and social worker in a psychiatric hospital. The partial goals are to describe the role and activity health and social worker, how the health and social worker is involved in multidisciplinary care in the psychiatric hospital and what means of psychohygiene are used by the health and social worker in the psychiatric hospital. The method of interviewing by means of half-structured interview, as well as qualitative research strategy were chosen for the research. Data analysis was performed using open coding. The research group was selected by means of a subsequent selection and consisted of four health and social workers. From the research it can be concluded that the course of health and social work in psychiatric hospitals is relatively the same. The health and social worker is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team in a psychiatric hospital, where patients are provided with comprehensive health and social care. A health and social worker in a psychiatric hospital plays a number of roles and activities. We rank among the roles service provider and social adaptation trainer and we rank among the activities providing professional social counseling to the patient and his family, participation in visits and treatment programs and meetings, support in processing documents, in solving debt problems and in solving housing problems. The employment of a health and social worker is one of the helping professions where self-care and observance of the principles of psychohygiene are necessary. The most important means of psychohygiene is supervision, which is observed by the employer of psychiatric hospitals and health and social workers participate in it at regular intervals. The bachelor thesis can be used as feedback for the facility where the research will be carried out. The results of the work can be used by health and social workers in health care and students in the field of health and social care who are considering employment in a psychiatric hospital.
The Role of a Health and Social Worker at Providing Health and Social Care for Hospitalized Patients in a Hospital

The goal of a bachelor thesis called The Role of a Health and Social Worker in the Provision of Health and Social Care for Hospitalized Patients was to define the purpose of a health and social worker in providing health and social care for hospitalized patients in various chosen departments. The goal was partly achieved with the use of a theoretical research for the given topic, which is covered in the first chapter of the bachelor thesis. Following part of the thesis is the practical chapter, which either confirmed or denied the conclusions from the theoretical part. The resolution was based on the semi-structured interviews with eight interviewees who were all health and social workers from various hospital departments. The conclusion of the practical research was made using the qualitative research approach based on the semi-structured interviews with health and social workers who are currently actively engaging in the health and social services. The semi-structured interviews were transcribed word-to-word and encoded using the open coding. The codes were then processed by using the method of creating clusters, which were later used to find relations within the individual clusters.
A medical social worker in the health care facilities

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of medical social work in health care facilities and its position in an interdisciplinary team that is necessary in providing quality and comprehensive patient care. The first part generally characterizes the specifics of the profession and content of competences and activities of medical social worker. It also describes interdisciplinary teamwork. The practical part focuses on data analysis detected through semistructured interview in-depth semistructured interview and realized with five medical social workers in the health care facility Hospital České Budějovice, a.s. Research results show that the hospital provides quality and comprehensive patient care. The quality of provided care could be higher by introducing supervision, increasing the number of medical social workers and removing of technical barriers in communication and information transfer.
Satisfying long - term care patient's psychosocial needs in Královské Vinohrady Faculty Hospital

The aim of the diploma thesis is to map out the subjective view of volunteers on the psychosocial needs of patients at the Long-term care department in the Královské Vinohrady Faculty Hospital. The work first focuses on the characteristics of patients in a long-term treatment. It also provides the overview of their psychological and social needs and about those who play a role in meeting these needs. The reconnaissance survey identifies areas where volunteers complement the work of social workers and care staff. In the evaluation, the results of the interviews with volunteers are compared with the opinions of the patients themselves
Specifics of communication with seniors in contect social - health care

Annotation: The purpose of this Master's thesis is to describe objectively topic of medical social workers' communication in centers of post-acute care, to highlight importance and difficulty of social work with senior citizens and to propose eventual changes leading to eventual communication improvement. Social work here is complicated because senior citizens are often lonely or may have problematic family relationships or may suffer from dementia and quite often are polymorbid patients. For the thesis were used statistics from The Centre of Postacute Care - Motol University Hospital, then method of questionnaire realized with medical social workers from centers of post-acute care in Czech Republic, and method of structured interview with patients in Center of Postacute Care - Motol University Hospital.

The main aim of the thesis entitled Social Work in health facility - the role of health-social worker in hospital for long-term patients is the issue of seniors hospitalized in hospital for long-term patients at the University Hospital in Motol. The thesis emphasizes the need for social services in a health facility, the role and status health-social worker in a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive care for patients. In the theoretical part of the thesis contains chapters that are focused on social work in a health facility, the definition of health-social worker, role and activities of a health-social worker in hospital for the logn-term patients, hospitalized seniors problem situations which health-social worker meets frequently and provision of social counselling and provision of aftercare. The practical part consists of case reports of patients that are related to some difficult cases or situations. KNOWLEDGE OF THE FIRST AID NEW PRINCIPALS AT HEALTH-SOCIAL WORKERS

The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The first part describes providing of the first lay aid at cases which occur most frequently. Further there is characterized a health-social worker in this part. The second part of my bachelor thesis deals with a research conducted on several randomly chosen workplaces staffed by health-social workers or social workers. The research was carried out in regions of Liberec and South Bohemia. The first aim was to find out a level of knowledge of the first aid at the health-social workers and the second aim was to map a frequency and characteristic of the provided first aid. I collected data in a quantitative form, a method of an interview, a technique of questionnaires. The result of the research shows that the health-social workers a social workers know how to do the first aid, they are only not sufficiently oriented at questions concerning fainting and bleeding from the nose. Most workers ticked in the questionnaire that they would be interested in the first aid course.
Social Work at the Hospital and its Impact on Patient Health

Human life is affected by illness and the loss of self-sufficiency. The aim of social work in hospitals is to help clients and their families come to terms with the problems associated with illness and to restrict and eliminate these problems. The theoretical part of the paper looks at health and illness, the needs people in hospital have, the changes that come about in the course of illness and illnesses as social events. I also look at social work in hospitals, the work of health/social workers and the theories and methods that are applied to social work in hospitals. The aim of the paper is to map out the influence of social work in hospitals on the health of patients. The main research question set out was, in what way does social work in hospitals influence the health of patients? In order to answer this question, I asked the following sub-questions: 1. What influence does social work in hospitals have on the physical side of the health of patients/clients? 2. What influence does social work in hospitals have on the mental side of the health of patients/clients? 3. What influence does social work in hospitals have on the social situation of patients/clients? 4. What methods or techniques of social work are used in social work at hospitals? The strategy of qualitative research was used to achieve the objectives set out. Questioning in the form of a semi-structured interview was the method chosen for obtaining information and questioning was supplemented by the method of monitoring. Interviews were conducted with 6 health/social workers and 15 clients/patients of such health/social workers. This paper could contribute towards an improvement in the social work services provided in hospitals and may also serve to broaden the knowledge level of the general and expert public.
